The Academy
What is StillWater Academy?
An online training platform built by StillWater IT Solutions, a managed IT provider in Langley, BC with over 20 years serving small and mid-sized businesses. Three tracks: AI, Security, and Operations. Fourteen courses, short modules, quizzes with an 80% pass mark, and a verified certificate at the end of each course. Built for owners, office staff, and field crews in construction, trades, and professional services. No IT background required.
Who is it for?
Businesses with 1 to 100 seats that want their people trained on the tools they already use. Owners and managers get role-specific leadership modules. Staff get plain-language training they use the next day. Most members run construction, trades, or professional services firms. The content itself is industry-agnostic.
Do I need to be a StillWater IT client?
No. The Academy is open to any business. Enroll from the pricing page, invite your team, and start the same day.
See pricingDo I need to be technical?
No. Every course is written in plain language for people who run and work in a business, not for IT departments. If your team sends email and opens spreadsheets, they are ready.
Which courses are included?
AI track: AI 100 AI Readiness Certification, AI 200 Putting AI to Work, AI 201 AI for Decision Makers, AI 202 AI Threats and Safe Use, AI 203 AI and Your Business Data, AI 300 Claude at Work, AI 301 AI Governance and Policy, and AI 400 AI Capstone. Security track: SEC 100 Cybersecurity Foundations, SEC 200 Continuity and Provider Accountability, and SEC 300 Cyber Fraud and Loss Prevention. Operations track: OPS 100 Everyday Tools Mastery, OPS 101 Application Essentials, and OPS 200 Data Essentials. Every subscription includes all of them.
Which AI platform do the courses use?
Courses teach method first. Examples default to Claude. ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot users follow the same steps in their own tool. AI 300 Claude at Work is the one course built for a single platform, and the title says so.
Is the content specific to construction and trades?
The examples are. Bid decisions, site photos, wire transfers, dailies, GC prequalification packages. The methods apply to any small business, and professional services firms use the same courses without changes.
Learning and certificates
How long does a course take?
Most courses run 10 modules. Each module is built to fit a 30-minute window, so people finish between real work instead of blocking off a day. Most learners complete a course in a few weeks. Everything is self-paced with no deadlines inside your term.
How do quizzes and tests work?
Every module ends with a short quiz. The pass mark is 80%. Retakes are unlimited, and your score of record is your highest passing score. Standard courses close with a final test drawn from the module question banks. OPS 101 Application Essentials is a reference library and has no quizzes.
What do I get when I finish a course?
A verified completion certificate for that course, valid 12 months and shareable to LinkedIn. Each certificate carries a public verification link, so a client, insurer, or general contractor confirms it in seconds without an account.
What are deliverables?
Working documents your business keeps, generated from your own answers as you pass specific modules. Depending on the course: a company AI policy, a risk register, a rollout plan, a safe-use standard, a payment verification protocol, a vendor vetting checklist, a bid/no-bid scorecard, a governance binder checklist, and more. They live in My Toolkit for the life of your subscription and download as files you own.
What is the difference between Leadership and Staff modules?
The foundational courses (AI 100, SEC 100, OPS 100) split into shared modules plus a Leadership or Staff set. The account owner assigns the role when inviting each person. Leadership learners see the Staff modules as well. Intermediate and advanced courses are one track for every seat.
What is the AI for Business Program?
A structured path through the AI track. Start with AI 100 AI Readiness, take three or more electives (AI 200, 201, 202, 203, 300, 301), and finish with AI 400, the capstone. The capstone certificate is the Applied AI Certification. It certifies a measured result on a real process in your business, not attendance.
Can new hires use it for onboarding?
Yes. OPS 101 Application Essentials is a searchable task library for Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, Acrobat, Zoom, and the trades toolkit. Add the new hire's seat, point them at the tasks they need, and skip the shoulder-tap questions.
Is there a free way to see the content first?
Yes. The Preview tier is free. Register and work through the full sample module from AI Readiness. No credit card. Upgrade to any paid tier whenever you are ready.

How is pricing structured?
Per seat. One seat equals one named learner with their own login, progress, and certificates. Six tiers by seat count: Preview (free, 1 seat), Solo (1), Studio (2 to 9), Office (10 to 24), Organization (25 to 49), and Enterprise (50 to 100). Bigger teams pay less per seat, and the tier applies automatically to every seat you hold. Choose annual or monthly billing, in CAD or USD. Live numbers are on the pricing page. For more than 100 seats, book a call.

20% off every plan through October 31, 2026, 11:59 PM Pacific. The discount applies automatically at checkout; there is no code to enter. Your founding rate stays locked for as long as your subscription stays active. After October 31, new members pay list price.
I belong to a partner group. Is there an extra discount?
Some partner organizations have their own link with an additional discount stacked on the founding rate. If your chapter or association works with StillWater, ask your group lead for the link, or contact us.
Contact usWhat does a subscription include?
Every course in every track, for every seat, plus every course we add while you are subscribed, at no extra cost. Deliverable generators, certificates, and the owner dashboard are included.
Monthly or annual?
Monthly plans bill month to month and cancel any time. Annual plans bill once per year at a lower per-seat rate. Cancel auto-renewal from your account or by emailing support at least 7 days before renewal; access runs to the end of the paid term.
Can I add seats mid-term?
Yes. Email support@thestillwateracademy.com with the new seat count. Added seats are prorated to your existing renewal date. If the new total moves you into a better tier, the better rate applies to all seats at the next renewal.
What is StillWater Concierge?
Direct setup and rollout support from a StillWater team member: a kickoff call, custom AI policy review, quarterly progress check-ins, and priority email support. Included on Studio, Office, Organization, and Enterprise tiers. Available as an optional add-on for Solo.
What is the refund policy?
Full refund within 14 calendar days of purchase, provided fewer than four modules have been completed across all learners on the subscription, no certificate has been issued, and no AI policy PDF has been generated. Email support@thestillwateracademy.com with your account email and order reference. Refunds process within 10 business days to the original payment method. Full terms are in Section 7 of the Terms of Service.
Read the refund policyWhich currency am I charged in, and what about tax?
Canadian buyers are charged in CAD, US buyers in USD. Applicable taxes are added at checkout. Payment is by card through Stripe.
Teams and reporting
How do I add my team?
From the owner dashboard, enter each person's email and choose Leadership or Staff. They receive an invitation, set up their login, and start. Pending invitations hold a seat until accepted, and the header shows used and available seats on every page.
Can I see who has finished?
Yes. The owner dashboard tracks every seat: modules completed, quiz scores, and certificates issued. It is the record you hand to a client, insurer, or auditor who asks for proof of training.
Someone left the company. What happens to their seat?
Seats reassign. Email support@thestillwateracademy.com and we move the seat to the new person.
Does this satisfy my insurer or a GC prequalification?
Insurers and general contractors increasingly ask for two things: proof that staff completed security and AI training, and a written AI policy. Certificates, the owner dashboard, and the generated policy documents answer both. Requirements vary by insurer and contract, so check the wording they send you. We do not promise a specific premium or approval outcome.
Can we suggest a course?
Yes. Every subscriber proposes new courses from the ideas board in their dashboard. The catalog roadmap comes from those requests.
